A Free Roof for a Good Cause
1st Choice Roofing has been one of the area’s top roofing companies since 2004 because of the support of the local community, and we’re proud to be able to return the favor. Owner Ken Phillips and the team at 1st Choice Roofing understand how important it is to help those who are less fortunate, which is why we have formed Reconstructing Hope – a community-based renovation project. Through this program, we donate a new roof to a worthy cause each year to show our appreciation for a community that has embraced us with open arms and allowed us to become a local roofing leader.
Fostering Change
For 2019, the beneficiary of the Reconstructing Hope program was Fostering Change Foster Closet in Land O’ Lakes. Fostering Change is the brainchild of George Agovino, a foster parent who knows first-hand how much help foster children need to thrive. Agovino spent seven months restoring an old house that was donated to him, and 1st Choice Roofing provided a brand new roof to ensure that it will be protected for years to come. Additionally, 1st Choice Roofing organized a benefit event that helped raise money and collect donations for Fostering Change.
Fostering Change serves as a resource for foster children who didn’t have time to gather all of their important belongings when they were removed from their homes. They will be able to visit Fostering Change to collect clothing, toiletries, car seats, toys, and other items they need for day-to-day life.
1st Choice Roofing is proud to be able to give back to the local community that has given so much to us, and we look forward to helping other deserving charitable organizations in the coming years through Reconstructing Hope.
